Warning to porsche's under warranty!!!
Please be careful about what you do, say and how you drive your car...
I sat in an arbitration with my friend and PCNA today. They produced every autocross event he had been in, a phone conversation he had with 1 800-porsche cust service, All DME records of revs, his final 1st place standing in my class last year............
And Claimed his RMS and pouring smoke out of his tailpipes was his fault for abuse!!!!!!!!!
Can't talk specifics but I will not be bringing my 997 to any events where I am tempted to try to win and be competitive.....
You all better beware because if you have an engine propblem they will bring the house in order to squash you and your beloved Porsche!

PCASD is turning event rosters over to local dealerships and/or PCNA? If so, I would very much like to know, and will not only be avoiding any PCA events but also canceling my membership after 17 years.

I doubt PCASD is doing that. The rep brought web site print outs from our club site and a copy of windblown witness with the final results of the year in which My friend was 1st and I was 3rd in our class.
Big brother is watching! They even brought a tape recording of a phone call he made to PCNA....
Pretty great lengths to ensure a customer gets screwed!

I feel bad for him or anyone else for that matter.
Porsche encourages these events and all it takes is one wrong shift or spin with both feet in and poof there could go your warranty....No matter how careful you are....

This is simply incredible, I am shocked reading this post. Are you telling me a company that builds sports and race cars is digging up dirt on us to see if we are free reving our cars or tracking them?? and then denying any warranty claims for reairs that may or may not be directly related!!!!!!
This coming from a company that offers track events like the Porsche Driving Experience and pays top retired race drivers to lure us to the possibilities of these cars.
IF YOUR READING THIS PCNA AND PAG YOU HAVE NO ROOM FOR ERROR, SOONER OR LATER SOMEONE IS GOING TO NAIL YOU TO THE WALL WITH A CLASS ACTION SUIT ON THE RMS FLAW.
As a matter of fact I'm forwarding this to my attorney's that I know are hungry for a class action. Beats ambulance chassers anyday.

Did they mention anything about a "two feet in" spin voiding the warranty? If they are claiming abuse simply based on spinning your car, even if the engine isn't over-revved, then I think it's safe to say Porsche has gone completely insane.

This is becoming a common practice among all manufacturers these days - Not just Porsche.
It's scary because it makes a statement of "We do not stand by our product for its intended use" by some of the major manufacturers.
