I would think if your dealer was cool about it yes, but hope you never have and o2 or maf problems because they will probably not honor warranty!

I'm curious. I realize you may not be able to reveal the information but what was your friends argument/explanation to the arbitrator regarding PCNA's accusations?

It is true with qualifications. Competitive events will void the warranty. GM is specifically concerned with drag-racing and makes specific note of it. One would assume that AX's qualify as they are (usually) competitive.

When my wife bought her Z06 it came with a video tape that showed how to adjust the rear suspension for track use and specifically directed owners to add an extra quart of oil before going out on a road course. I think that pretty much covers the intended use defence.

This was true for C5 ZO6s. I do not know if it was true for run-of-the-mill Corvettes. And until the warranty booklet for the C6 Z06 arrives no one knows about it. However, with a dry sump engine from the factory...

Keep in mind, also, that the warranty was a 24/24. Not exactly long.

I'm happy to report after further investigation into this matter, there were extenuating circumstances (which i won't discuss) which should allow us all to ignore this incident rather than consider it something to expect from porsche.

Is it true that Porsche had documentation regarding all tracking events as well as computer printouts showing the various over revvs? You sat in on the arbitration and claimed they had this information. Did they have it and did they present it to the arbitrator? Surely you are not denying that happened or are you?

As far as your friends case and its validity, in my mind that is irrelevant to this thread. What is important is what information Porsche and how they got it.:

At a minimum, you need to either confirm or deny what you posted earlier regarding Porsche and the information they had. Many on this board need to know what they are up against.

Yes they did present this evidence in arbitration...Not sure how they got all the autocross info and year end magazine with final standings, but they did.

It is over now and all I can say is just be nice to your dealer and keep a low profile so they don't jump on your back like a wild monkey!!!

I guess that the Porsche henchmen couldn't find any track information on my car since they petitioned the court to inspect my vehicle. Sorry guys, you had over 50 chances. So, what could it be that they are looking for? Could it be DME readings? I made a few calls to see if anyone could print me out a DME. I soon found out that Porsche's viagra 3 machine was proprietary, and was not offered for sale. My concerns of the DME are bothering me a lot. I wanted to see if anyone at the dealer was ripping up my car. I also wanted to see if there was any information that could work against me. But, since I have no access to this information or their machine, how would I know if data has been erased, or added. Is their testing machine calibrated, and by whom?

The running joke is if you take your car to a DE event and your cigarette lighter doesn't work, it's because you tracked your car. So, if my lighter doesn't work, the electrical system must be malfunctioning, thus giving the possibility of erroneous DME's.

Just so everyone's clear, I didn't beat this car, or miss shifts; this car just seems to self-destruct. I don't even use it much anymore.

I have just spoken with the technical manager at my dealership as I would like to get hold of the DME readings for my car as well.

This is the info they gave me.

I have to take my car in to the OPC, but once it's there, it's simply a case of plugging the car in to their machine and they can give me a copy of the data.

However, for the 997 range, the data is very limited and not that specific - only the engine speed band is continuously measured and stored.

For example, it can tell you that during the 42nd hour of the engine's life the engine was running at 4-5k rpm for 10 minutes.

Does Porsche warranty their motorsports cars?
If they don't, why would we think they would warranty their road cars for track use?

I wouldn't use a non dry sump car on the track. I've seen tons of regular 996's smoke like that 997 after track use.

Sorry for the confusion regarding my car RR. I have zero hours of track time, zero hours of DE time, and zero hours of concourse time. I did show my friends the engine once, and I do live 15 miles from a track. That wouldn't work against me. Would it?
