Default Tequipment Gas Cap : Find The 7 Differences

I had the chance to take a picture of the new fuel cap for the 997/996 and Cayenne.
The cap looks different than what is shown in all the brochures.

This is the gas cap as published :

Here is what it really looks like :

One of the differences is that the gas cap is not painted plastic, instead the cap is covered with a thin layer of aluminum.

Looks like a better piece of kit than the brochure picture.

These parts are not available yet.
The price will be around $150.

only porsche can get you to pay $150 for something that is heavier than what you have, does nothing to improve performance, and something you only see for 5 minutes every few days.

Didn't the car come with a center console?

If you like the black with black center console look, I got the aluminum center console. I had one in my 40th and I think it finishes off the car. I got a good deal from Phil at suncoast as I purchased some other things as well.

Here's the picture of what the interior will look like.

Eric - if your reading this then I guess you could have my center console if you need it.

Just a reminder - suncoast is not a sponsor - Gert is....
even with the price of the euro - i've been giving my business to Gert b/c of this
the cap is neat, but not my style (i'm function before form, and i still have the 99 interior stuff)
not affiliated, etc. just a happy customer

It's nice to see Porsche offering real aluminum rather than "aluminum look" paint.

Porsche needs to reduce the amounts of painted plastic in the cars, especially in the interiors. After a few years, painted plastic gets faded and scratched, and looks cheap (which it is).
