Default Any Oil Leak or Other Issues?

Just wanted to ask for those w/ the 997s if you guys have had any oil leak issues? On my 996, I had to bring it back to the dealer 2 times and still have minor leaks.

The sales guy told me that there "will always" be an issue with oil leaks......wanted to confirm this w/ you guys. Thanks!

Best,
Sam

No, though I am only at 675 miles so far. Great sales guy BTW... people wonder why I usually treat car salesman with no respect, need to print this out.

The last time my car was in the svc station, they told me that these engines are "high performance engines", which is why there will be some leaks......not really sure if this is right though.

Not on the 997S I was optimistic that Porsche had done something in the 3.8 to avoid the RMS problems...

Please let us know the details when you can.

is the cost of fixing these leaks on 996s and now 997s (and other cars in the lineup I imagine?) under warranty less then fixing the underlying problem? I can understand why they don't use the better engine block on the "base" cars because of cost, but why can't they fix it on the "cheap" block? its just an oil seal.

I have had to add about 1.5 quarts of oil in 2500 miles. I noticed yesterday on the floor of my garage that there is some oil on the floor right below where the engine block would be. I looked under the car and noticed some oil on the bottom of the engine. I tend to drive the car very hard, but thats why I got a Porsche! Any thoughts?

I have 3500+ since taking delivery on 14 December. She consumed about a quart of oil during break-in (normal) and then stopped before the end of the break-in period. No leaks. Garage floor at home and work is spotless.

Been reaching triple digit speeds since the end of break-in, including today.
