Default Stereo Question ?????

Is there a way to turn off the radio and/or the CD and have the trip computer on? I do not have the nav. It seems like you have to turn down the volume and can not turn it off.

I too find it annoying that when you turn on the display, radio/CD is playing and you have to turn down the volume from the standard setting. Doubt there is any way to change this, but I'd like to!

There is a menu under AUDIO using the SET button that allows you to Mute the stereo sound.

It's funny that there is a button to easily turn off the display, but not a "mute" button. Having to use a menu to get to a common task is too much like the BMW iDrive madness. So far I haven't found a shortcut button to simply mute the audio. Oddly enough, my Boxster has an easy-to-use mute button, which is independent of the power button, although it has no real benefit as it's just audio and no nav, etc. Maybe Porsche figured that one button more on the 997 PCM was too much?

Thanks for the help. Sounds like a needed upgrade. I do not listen to the stereo much and if I forget and leave a CD in the system it runs all the time if I do not select AM or FM when turning the volume down.
