Default 997 VS new Vette in C&D

Couldn't resist buying the latest C&D last night while waiting forever to pick up a prescription for the wifey. The new vette won the comparison based on price but if you just read the article and left out the results you would think the 997 won. The section on the 997 talked about the porsche mainly while the section on the vette kept referring to the 997. Conclusion is they are both great cars with only small differences in either direction except for the price.

Drive them both and I think you'll understand why C&D and every other magazine I've read says the Porsche is #1 and only if you are on a budget, you might give the nod to the Vette. Don't get me wrong, the Vette is a formidable car. But, it's no BMW M3 or 997.

I read the article as "Do not buy the Vette Yet" because it is to soft, has lifeless steering and is not as precise or agile as the longer 997 (or any other Porsche). The initial Vette hype was toned down once they drove the 997 and anyone who wants a vette should WAIT until the Z 06 arrives
