Mountain Drive with Lots of Pictures
I went out for a mid-day drive in the 997 to the Rocky Mountain National Forest near Estes Park, Colorado. It was a beautiful day, with snow on the upper peaks and almost too much sunlight, if you can believe such a thing! The drive wasn't very spirited as you can't go very fast in the national parks, but there were some great places to get photos of the car and scenery.
Here are a few, and there are several more on my site . As you can see, the term "flat black" to describe the color doesn't do it justice:

what a view! the mountains are nice too. i guess i'm biased since i have a black/black 997S also. i drive mine in rural virginia on the weekends although comparing to the snow covered rockies isn't really a fair fight.

Nice pics, Skip - thanks! I will always remember 30+ years ago when a friend in Golden handed me the keys to his 911 and sent me off for the day to Estes Park - great time!

Lee, most of those are in Moraine Park. I think it was Bear Lake Road or something like that.
Jim, I live about 45 minutes from Estes Park, and sometimes go there just to drive a Porsche in the canyons. The traffic makes it difficult to go very fast, but it's amazing to see how much more poised a Porsche is on such roads versus most cars. I shouldn't be surprised after driving a number of these cars, but they never cease to impress me.
