MJones,

Thanks for your response. Tire Rack only shows Continental ContiSportContact 2 for those sizes in a max performance tire. I tried to select tires on my original 02 996 order and was told that the factory chooses tires randomly from manufacturers & that I could not be assured of any particular tire. I ended up with Pirelli P Zero Rossos which worked well for me. There are probably not too many manufacturers making the 997 19" tire sizes as yet.

Default Why oh why the 19s...

I still don't get why a few companies are changing over to 19s. Bling factor is all I can come up with. 18s are "perfect". Better ride, more tire choices, R-compound availability, etc. Marketing is having too much influence - "Hey, I heard on the street that it's cooler to see less black and more silver on the wheels / tires..." What's next, 20s?

Hey, I agree with you. But, they're giving people what they want. BTW, the Carrera on the stock 18's is better balanced than the Carrera S on the 19's. This is mainly due to the smaller differential in size between front and rear.

The thing I like about the Michelin's is they protrude over the rims thus giving them a little more protection. Not sure if others do the same but it seems like a nice feature
