Can't wait for my 997S to arrive in late Feb (Jan build). I'm actually looking forward to using it as a daily driver...especially in the SNOW! I loved ripping around in my M5 in the powder...

many people would shriek at that idea, however, more power to you if you can

with snow tires (a must), even the 2WD 911s are proficient in light snow.

by late february, hopefully the brunt of the winter will be over though

but who knows, it snowed last may.

Yup, I am looking for a set of 18" Carerra III wheels with the new Conti Wintercontact 810V's. Can't wait. Not going to be garage queen!

Ahh...I am in the middle of a divorce and had to get rid of the C-TT... Porsche-less for now...but not for long! The 997 is going to be my celebration of getting the divorce over with.

I've been using my 997S as a daily driver so far, but we don't usually get snow here. Just a lot of rain in the winter. I also drove my 996TT for 2 years as a daily driver, and my 996C2 before that as daily drivers. They work just fine.

In about 10 days my new daily driver will be here. It is good it has a sun roof so things I carry can stick out of it! I can't stand not to drive a P car. Some dont drive in the rain and that is when it is fun!

I agree with Page. My 993 is really fun to drive in the rain. I use it as a daily driver regardless of weather. Why buy a Porsche if you aren't going to drive it?

Drive my current car (03M3) year round. I have a set of 5-spoke alloys with 17" Toyo snows - the car rocks in the winter.

I read a letter a little while ago in the PCA magazine - some guy with a 996TT that had something like a whole 600 miles on it in 2 years. Kept going on how he loved the car - how would he know with only 600 miles?

When my 997S arrives it's going to see 4 seasons...

Its my daily driver but its going in the garage for the winter....more worried about someone plowing into me rather than me driving ..... happended to a buddy of mine (not a Porsche but a nice new car)

Yeah, I gotta say that is my greatest fear...some yahoo in a huge SUV thinking that because they have AWD, they can rip around at tipping speedsin M+S tires in 5 inches of snow and ice...

i've got to pile on with the biggest fear being the moron on a cell phone or a tailgater plowing into you. i had a woman in some old junker with a cell phone pasted to the side of her head tailgating me for 20 minutes as i was driving my brand new 997S home from the dealer and my only thought was just don't hit me...it's combat driving here in d.c.; time to move...i also had to drive my black/black car home in the rain after having the roadblock protective film put on the other day...now i know why it's not a great idea to drive a black car in the rain unless you've got plenty of spare time to clean it.

Wow, in 25 years of driving, I've never had anyone come close to hitting me in the winter, no matter what I am driving. Suppose that's why I'm not concerned about driving my M3 or the future 997S in the weather. If it's really bad out, I just say home... Just never wanted that 2nd vehicle (wife has a Volvo XC70).

of course these cars are daily drivers. i have owned various 911's, and presently own an 03 996tt, and with the aid of 4 winter tires, i drive it most every day to go to work. carreras are hearty cars and are made to be driven-i personally think that it is ridiculous to put the car away for the winter. despite what you paid, it is a car. put snows on it and drive it, and enjoy it. if you want a winter garage queen, buy a ferrari.
