Default Okay its stupid, but help me...

confirm that my Cobalt Blue 997S order isn't ridiculous.

I have had a carbon black M5 (bluish black) and a basalt black metallic C-TT. There are way too many silver, black, and grey 996 and 997s I think. The speed yellow and guards red are just a bit too loud for me.

I was so gung ho on cobalt blue until a female friend said "nice color...kinda feminine though..." That was like a cold shower.

Maybe something more masculine like slate grey...The atlas grey was too purple.

What a ridiculous thing to obsess over...

Get over it! And you will, as soon as that stunning Cobalt beast rolls in front of your eyes. One of the most beautiful colors Porsche ever put on a car. Nice, bright, eye catching but not too loud. Feminine? Yeah, right. GET OVER IT MAN.

It's the right choice. You will see very soon.

If this shot comes through, it was posted on another board from someone who redid a C2 into a widebody, had the whole car done over, Cobalt.

It's not a feminine color. In fact, there is nothing feminine about the 997 except the wide hips.

it's your car isn't it? who's paying for it? thank you. it's all about what makes you feel good; not everybody else...cobalt is a nice color and why have the same thing as everybody else? i have a black/black 997S which replaces the original black/black carrera i sold 15 years ago but i thought about cobalt and other blues when i was originally looking at used 911's. there were some really nice cars out there...i have a silver '02 vette convertible which is nice but i recently saw one in a blue which is close to cobalt and it was beautiful. if i swap into the new C6 i'll go for the blue without hesitation. good luck and just go with what you really want (as long as you get her permission)

Cobalt is perhaps my favorite color. I agree with you; I'm tired of silver, gray, and black (and I have a seal grey '02 996). The predominant Porsche colors should not be boring luxury car colors. Porsches should pop out at you! Like many, I was stuck with grey because the dealers are all convinced that these neutral colors are "safe" and will be moveable. I guess they're right, I bought even though I was ho-hum about the color.

Go for it!

that's LeMans Blue on the new C6 - it appears to be the "hot" color amongst the C6 afficionados.

i still would like to see a 997 in white.

Atlas looks awesome! I am also tired of silver on every freaking new car I see! My 997s will be black or atlas or white!

I tell you what. You get the color you like and I will tell you how good it looks.

Is there a wrong color from the factory? Me thinks not...

Thanks for posting the pics of the white 997, it seems to suit the car well and accentuates the front design features well.

As far as Cobalt Blue, I wouldn't let that feminine comment bother you at all. Cobalt Blue is stunning in the sun light! You will enjoy washing and waxing that beauty every chance you get. I was torn between Atlas grey and Cobalt Blue myself, but decided on Atlas mainly because of the price difference.

Thanks all. I can't believe I'm even spending any intellectual and emotional energy on this.

COBALT BLUE IT IS!!!

Now what interior...I think stone grey...although the natural grey is interesting.

I do not like Colbalt blue but who cares what I think. It will be your car and you are the only one who has to like it. It should not matter what the color is as long as you like it.
