How/how much, to order custom 997?
Does anyone know what the options are here?
Id like to order a custom set up.
For instance can I get:
Paint to match sample (riviera blue, metalic); Ill have the wheels powdercoated grahite metalic.
Gt3 seats
No rear seats and/or Light weight interior.
No PASM
with Gt3 brakes
For an S model.
and how long will it take and how to get the best discount on it?
and ofcourse what will it total? Any less for tourist delivery?
will I get charged when I order it or when I take delivery?
Thanks
Mike

Living in the US we are pretty much out of luck on several items.
PASM is the only option here (row can subsitute -20mm sport suspention.)
No GT3 seats here. New seats have thorax airbag built into seat.
No rear seats and/or Light weight interior..You could remove the rear seats but better yet wait for the 997 GT3 in '06
GT3 brakes $8150 gets you the PCCB
$4315 gets you paint to sample(+3-6 months added to build time) they have 60+ approved colors but I don't believe that riviera blue, metalic is one of them since riviera blue, is a solid.
A discount on a custom ordered car- highly un-likely
Discount for tourist delivery = NONE but you do have to pony up the VAT in front which is refunded back to you when the car leaves the country. The additional charge for Tourist Delivery for a MY04 Carrera was $2250
I'am sure that you will have to put up a hefty deposit for this custom perhaps non-refundable and it must be paid in full for tourist delivery.

I don't understand "60+ approved colors"... I thought with paint-to-sample one could specify any color whatsoever? I've heard of guys matching paint to their girlfriend's lipstick, for example.

Paint to sample is just that and you may specify any color whatsoever..
Porsche does have a list of 60+ approved colors, where that list is or how to get it is another story.

I know a guy with a 996 GT3 who claims to have preordered a 997 GT3 for 2006.
That said, PCNA hasn't officially confirmed the 997 GT3 will even make it to the United States. The Mk. 1 996 GT3 did not.
And even if it does make it here, Porsche may not offer paint-to-sample. There's no paint-to-sample on the 996 GT3.
At present, if you want a custom color you may need to take your GT3 to an independent paint shop.

bummer, id rather not have a repaint, its just not the same, the factory paint is harder, plus that might take evenlonger, and you have to wet sand, and buff etc... its a pain
