Does anyone have any pics/vids of how they routed/hid the backup camera wire from the rear of the car to the head unit? Everything I have found shows how to get through the grommet behind the taillight but then gives a very generic description of where they ran the wire once inside the cabin.
See this post. I followed the “red route”, very easy – you just tug the wire in with your hands. 30-60 second job all in all. See the last pics for the “red route”

Under the carpet/in the carpet "slot". You just tug the cable in - either between the plastic trim and the carpet, or where two carpet ends meet. The "red route" is perfect for this. Just take a piece of wire and try it, takes you 5 seconds to test it. it is totally hidden - and the cable won’t fall out, even when tracking the car. Did this a few years ago and have never seen the cable since. Could show you a picture of mine, but you won’t be able to see anything, as the cable is totally hidden along the “red route”

I think thats the part I was missing is that there is a gap between the carpet and trim pieces where a wire can be tucked in. I did the install on Saturday and Im happy with how it turned out. I am using a camera that has the license plate light in it, so its a little off center and catches part of the bumperette in the view but otherwise works great. I have a couple other cameras (plan on eventually adding a front camera) and may switch to a center-mount flush, Im undecided whether I want to drill the bumper or maybe just use some 3M mounting tape.
I tried the red route through the center console but couldnt get it very far, so I ended up going up the passenger side, tucking behind carpet/trim and then removed the side sill and ran those 2 feet up to the footwell alongside a big wiring loom.
@Breizh How are you mounting your camera for the rear on a cabriolet? I have an idea about mounting it behind the seat, but have not had the time to finish yet … so I am still open to ideas.
I wish I had documented mine. As I ran it with some wire loom all the way to the front of the car, removing all brush guards from underneath, and zip tying all the way down, running into the driver fender well and into the plastic grommet in the well, then into firewall. Has worked great. But someone else had posted running it into the shifter grommet and I to the radio.

will I have it open today to change the oil I snap a few photos to give an idea of how I did it.

Thanks!
I already have a reverse camera mounted on the bumper, right above the tag. While I did mount it myself, I didn't run the wiring myself: I had a new head unit installed shortly after, so I asked the shop to connect that camera to the head unit. I can take pics after I remove the bumper again, if you need, since I need to install a separate rear weatherproof cam (VIOFO) next to that one. I got rear ended a while ago in my SUV, so I'm a little paranoid about rear end collision (low speed <20mph did almost $4k of damage!).

Do you have a picture of the view from the head unit? Trying to do similar but not sure if off center would screw with my OCD too much.

I do not. The off-centered view annoyed me enough that I moved the camera to dead center above the license plate. It is easy enough to make that move so if you want to try using the light, go for it, and if you dont like it, then it doesnt take long to reposition it in the center.
Can folks share what camera models they're using? Looking for recommendations for a license plate mount or another mount where I don't have to drill.
Thanks!
I got this one from AliExpress over a year ago: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mtE3XqZ
No longer available from this seller but there are similar ones. Picture is good, just needed this RCA video isolator to deal with the noise and picture was clearer after: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrGmKZL
