Uneventully, kind of....by quickly turning off the ignition, turning the key forward again so the steering wheel wouldn't lock and coasting to the side of the road.

This happened when I was about 2/3 of the way on a 600 mile trip from college back to home so the next challenge was to figure out how to make it the next 200 miles. Went to the tool kit in the trunk and took out a spool of wire, disconnected the throttle cable from the carburetor linkage and attached the wire to the linkage, took it around the B-pillar sail panel and ran it though a sock from my laundry and into the cockpit, locked the front trunk release handle, and attached the other end to it...

Now by using my left hand I had a hand throttle. Pulling the wire toward me pulled on the carb linkage and opened the butterflies and moving my arm/hand away from me let the springs on the linkage close them, so left hand throttle, right hand steering and shifting, left foot clutch and braking - right foot doing nothing (very weird sensation when driving a car and not doing anything with your right foot).

After about 30 miles and getting tired of holding my left arm in the same spot, I had a stroke of brilliance - if I crank up the window with the cable held in the right spot, I now have cruise control... pull cable to proper throttle position, roll up window, rest left arm until more or less throttle was needed, then to disengage cruise control, just crank down window 1/2".

Got home no problem, ordered a new Weltmeister Throttle Cable from Pelican Parts, installed it while I was home for break and drove it back normally

Had a lot of adventures with that car - did the same trip a couple years later with no starter, but that's a story for a different day

That's a pretty good story. Creative engineering at its finest!

Dear All,

I replaced the brake switch today.
No more cuts at the beginning but a weird feeling of having only 70% - 80% of power.

And after 15mn, it started to act weird again and I had some cuts again…

I erased all the errors before driving, that is why (I guess) it was pretty good the first 15mn.

So now, I have to find if it’s the Throttle Body, the accelerator pedal or maybe a wire problem…

Make sure the battery is fully charged, then disconnect it for 10 minutes, then reconnect it and start the car. When the idle drops down below 1,000 WITH THR CAR STILL RUNNING, click the reset all error codes, then drive it around with varying RPMs and throttle load.

See if that doesn't take care of things. If not, the nit could be throttle body related. There is a reset procedure for that as well.

I forgot to try what you said, sorry.

I replaced the TB yesterday too with the same one (it’s a new Bosch too but with an upgrade on the reference)

Unfortunately, everything worked fine for like 20 miles and it started to cut again, but now with a “engine check” light and an red exclamation mark light.

I was on the road for work and it was acting too weird (no power), so I decided to call a tow truck service. I didn’t want to try to go home with this problem.

Now my car is at my Porsche Specialist, and I’ll see what he will find…
