997.2 seat heater and climate buttons stopped working
All of my circled buttons stopped working all the sudden. I can control fan speed 0 to halfway but that’s it. Similar to this issue : https://www.planet-9.com/threads/cli...-fault.249396/
Anyone have a solution other than replacing the button panel?

That is odd. (I updated my post here with corrections) That whole module easily just snaps in and out - I don't believe there are retaining screws - it looks like two modules but it is one. I replaced one of my modules chasing a stupid issue... I can't remember how to do it but it is very easy... got to Google around for that. I am pretty sure you just pull... Maybe start with the lower module. IIRC, I think I slid a thin hook in between turned it 90 degrees and just pulled... but I would look for confirmation on that. I know the cables have slack to do this.
The whole control unit/module is 997-653-201-04 and is around $1,000.... maybe eBay has a used one.

I would also look to where they terminate on the other end... but the Porsche diagrams are not clear. Check under the driver's seat for moisture or evidence of moisture as that unit may have something to do with it. I suspect that is a single cable bundle and that may point to rodent damage.... yikes.
Of course with anything electrical, you could just unplug it, replug it, and reset the control module and ECU with a Durametric and just see what happens. Sometimes you get lucky.
This is a real mystery... please post back what you find.
Peace

As an update, I purchased a used climate panel from Redline Aito Parts for $399. Part shipped quickly and looks brand new!
Easy swap following YouTube instructions for changing the stereo head unit. New part works perfectly! Note that the seat heaters and cooler buttons don’t work unless you fully start the car.
Thanks to Petza and Bruce for your replies. I tried unplugging and re plugging the old panel but it still didn’t work. Pretty sure the unit is busted.
I’m happy this was a relatively inexpensive fix, so long as you can source a used part.
