Default Techron Fuel System Cleaner

For anyone who uses Techron, NAPA has the 32oz bottle on sale (during August) for $12.99/bottle.

I’m a committed Techron user, but I have found that the 32 oz bottle is difficult to use because the bottle neck is not long enough to get past the fuel tank flap. I have cut the bottom off of an old 12 oz Techron bottle with the long neck, which I then use as sort of a funnel to pour in the Techron from the large bottle. Mike

Just acquired GTS 4 Cab (manual) so still absorbing info, but I really like LNE so far. Good link related to additives. Anyone have any experience with these?

Detergents in fuel appear to start showing up in 1954 due to carburetor gumming. https://www.sae.org/publications/tec...ontent/900149/

In 1995, the EPA initiated interim detergent requirements. Since 1997, the EPA, acting under the Clean Air Act, has required detergents to control intake valve deposits and port fuel injector deposits. According to 40 CFR 1090.1395, gasoline with detergent must have an average of less than 100 milligrams of deposits per valve.

Auto manufacturers have recommended to their customers to use Top Tier fuel. Top Tier fuels have a detergent package that needs to see less than 50 milligrams of deposits. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-4...tion-1090.1395.

All detergents (far more than just that) must be approved by the EPA. https://www.epa.gov/fuels-registrati...-under-part-79.
