Default Windshield Cowl Adhesive?

On my 997, I noticed a section of the windshield cowl is not fully adhered to the windshield. I assume is it supposed to be since the rest of it is.
What should I use to fix this and get it to stay adhered? The cowl is in good shape and I don't want to fully replace it.

Searching Google I found these, but not sure if either are intended for the cowl.

(seems like this may be for installing a windshield?)

Any tips would be appreciated!

The cowl is not glued to the glass and a gap is common.

Every once in a while, I pull the cowl bolts and trapezoidal washers to try and flatten it out... I tug and pull.... eh. The bolts are under the little snap covers near the ends... go ahead and just pull them off. You may be able to loosen the nut and just push the cowl flat. I keep threatening to use my heat gun on it and try and flatten it out. Honestly it really doesn't matter as water still drains to the same place. Keep your drains under the cowl next to your battery clear!

Some folks here will just buy a new one... I have had two windshield replacements so maybe the glass is set differently from original... I just don't know... regardless, I am too cheap to buy a new one.

Peace,
Bruce in Philly (now Atlanta)

That happens from someone over-tighteming those nuts Bruce mentions. Should not be glued.

Thanks for the comments everyone. It sounds like the general consensus is to just leave it alone. 👍

Yeah mine was like that for a couple years - and the corners stuck up kind of a lot. Like everyone said, not a big deal, you can leave it alone. Mine was kind of washed out though too so I just had it replaced (at the dealer, while they were doing some other stuff) - I think I paid them like $600 and the new one fits like a glove. I don't know why I care as much as I do but I am really pleased with how it is now.
