Default High pitch squeal

Good day Gang,

First time Porsche owner. It drives wonderful but I hear this high pitch squeal sometimes when I’m stopped and idling. When I asked the dealer about it I was told, “the tech could not hear it”.

From my searching I’ve found, “It’s normal”, “It’s the hydraulic pump”, “It’s the drive belt tensioner”, “It’s a bearing”, etc.

Does this seem like something I should be worried about?

TIA,
James

Could be your AOS ... Mine squealed like a turkey on thanksgiving when it was going south and any squealing is not normal .

The two prior posts have identified the two possibilities - bearing on a pulley on the serpentine belt run or the AOS. If the AOS, the oil fill cap will be very difficult to remove with the engine running from the excessive vacuum.

Thank you. Oil cap came off just fine but I was surprised to see it so dirty after a dealer oil change. 🤷‍♀️
