PCCM+ mic install 997.1
Apparently there's a spot for a mic in the steering wheel column cover however the pccm+ mic housing is not intended to be installed there.
Took the mic housing and steering wheel column cover apart
3D printed a new housing
Mic fitting
With cover
Snapped into mic spot
Done

Nice! For those that don't want to 3D print their own, you can buy a housing here: https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/product/enfig-mic-por1/
I'm going to install mine soon.

Wondering why Porsche decided not to provide proper housing to begin with. Perhaps they didn't like the placement? Haven't tested mic quality yet.

I'll post the 3D files on https://www.thingiverse.com once I get past initial 24 hour post ban (just signed up). I'll add the link here when it let's me publish it.

Thanks! In the description on Thingiverse you put PMMC, but it's PCCM. Maybe change this so a search can find it? Would it also be possible to add the source files to make it possible to modify it for other microphones (assuming that you've used a common modelling software)?

Do these even work with the PCCM+? It has a 3.5mm plug whereas the mic that comes with the unit has a pinned plug that goes directly into the back of the unit. Also - if you go into the developer settings of the PCCM+ you can adjust your mic settings to try to optimize it

This is the original housing (cover removed)

There have been a couple of posts lining to this aftermarket one
https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/product/enfig-mic-por1/. That is what I’m referring to when I asked if they work with the pccm+.
However - I like your solution better since it uses the mic that already came with my PCCM+. I suspect it will be way cheaper to have it locally printed than the $40 enfig version above. Thanks for sharing!

To open up the steering wheel column, you need a thin neck t10 screw driver. There are 2 bolts under the wheel. Make sure the neck is thin and long. Otherwise, won't fit.
