Nice video. But I'm not sure about the point. Also, I'm not sure how this applies to a flat 6 oil pan.

A visual demo of oil foaming and crankcase ventilation overwhelmed. It would be far worse in a shallow 997 crankcase.

I haven't watched the video yet, but this is also why windage trays work, especially in turns where enough oil could move to the side for the crank to spin in it and frorth it up. The windage tray prevents oil from sloshing away from the pickup and maintains the clearance for the crank to not spin in the oil. This is why the better deep sump systems like the MantisSport come with a windage tray.

OFF TOPIC

Hey Pete, I just noticed that spray can in the background of the photo behind your windage tray. What are you spraying "PROLONG" onto? Just wondering.

Wow, what an eye! I use it sometimes as a multi-purpose penetrating lubricant, but also SeaFoam DeepCreep, and CRC Freeze-out. I bought a couple cans of Prolong probably 20 years ago and it's still around in my cabinet. My lubricant of choice now is Blaster Dry Teflon Spray and it sprays out as a liquid but then the carrier fluid evaporates away and leaves a coating of Teflon behind. This is great for things like sunroof mechanisms, door locks, etc as it doesn't attract any dirt to the lubricant.

That Blaster dry teflon spray sounds like some good stuff.
