1. Make cardboard mold to fit opening
2. Cut out wood shape using mold. I used 1/2 thick
3. Drill holes for whatever you want to house in the wood. I drilled holes for a USB and my phone microphone
4. Cover in leather, other fabric or paint. I used leather
5. Drill holes in back of coin holder tray
6. Pull wires through the holes from front to back
7. Secure connections
8. Insert wood into coin tray. The fitting should be tight enough to keep the wood secure in place
I’m not sure why you would do this when you can just cut holes in the back of the existing unit and put those same wires there (which the PO did on my car)
If you mean the wires would be loose in the bin I feel that would look sloppy and rattle, unless you are referring to something I am not understanding.

Mine just has outlets in the back of the bin. The wires are pulled tight. You can’t see them.
