Default Ignition stuck, key fob, battery draining

Hi all - I'm having the following issue with my 2008 997 Cabriolet that I haven't been able to get to the bottom of with my mechanic. So here's what's going on:

1. Occasionally the key gets stuck in the ignition and won't turn over, despite the key being recognised by the dash - it says "key 1" when inserted. In addition, the remote key fob won't work to unlock the doors nor the frunk.
2. Sometimes after a couple of days of sitting there doing nothing, it rights itself and I'm able to start the car and drive as normal.
3. If it doesn't start after a couple of days like described in (2), the battery eventually goes dead and I have to jump it. The battery itself is fine.

I've had a look and couldn't easily find the same issue as described above. I'd greatly appreciate any guidance! Thanks in advance.

If it's locking the key in the ignition, the battery is already too dead.

This contradicts itself, replace the battery as described. Most of these strange problems are caused by undervoltage.
