Default Thoughts on my 997 C4 brake plan

I know there are a LOT of brake threads, which also means a lot of confusing information so apologies in advance if this is well tread ground, I've definitely tried to do my research.
I’ve been hot rodding cars for 30 years but this is my first Porsche – 2008 997 Carrera 4.
I’ve built some serious track cars in my time and this car will eventually see some track time but for now I’m deliberately building a show pony which means fancy wheels and brakes.
No need to question "why I am doing this" or "why I'm not happy with stock brakes" I know exactly what I want for this car. From my research here it looks like the only upgrade for 997.1 non-S models is to buy Girodisc rotors(or equivalent) and spacers to run the black calipers with 340/320 28/24 rotors.
At $2400 front and rear this doesn’t seem like a great choice and is kind of a dead end in terms of brake development.
I also *think* I could run turbo rotors with the black calipers and spacers but I'm not sure this will work and again I'd still be at a dead end with 130mm caliper bolt spacing.
I've also think the black calipers are lower performance than the red calipers.

Therefore I am planning on replacing the knuckles with “S” knuckles all around and Red calipers. I already have a set of 2008 Turbo rotors.
I am just hoping someone can validate this plan –

997 knuckles from a 2005-2012 "4S". The Turbo part # differs by one digit but I believe the Turbo knuckles would work as well ? Kind of a moot point though as I have not seen any for sale.
Any of the 4 piston red calipers from Turbo or S Models in the 2006-2011 time frame. Six piston would be a bonus assuming it has 142mm spacing. I’m aware that GT2 and some 997.2 GT3 and Turbo S calipers would be 225mm and would not fit.
Aftermarket stainless brake hoses
Correct length caliper bolts/studs.

Some of the ads I’ve seen imply there is a difference between the “S” red calipers and Turbo 4 piston red calipers but I don’t think there is ?

Also I haven't checked the M/C part # on my car yet but according to my sources it could be either 997 355 910 10 or 00 or it could be the newer 997 355 910 30.
for the larger brakes I believe I will need the "30" part number if I don't have it - supposed to be 27mm but does anyone know the bore size on the "base" master cylinder ? I'm just assuming I will change it regardless if I have the "10" or "00" part number on my car
The knuckles are the biggest investment so if there are any differences I should know about please let me know.
I thought about just putting on some BBK's, but at $4500+ per end I thought again.

thanks !

I would guess S parts would be a straight forward upgrade ? Getting too far from stock may not be the best move . I have never updated style of parts so I can't offer any real help in that area .

I will be redoing the brakes and rotors in my 07 C4S, I got the parts at FCP euro . I haven't had time but parts are waiting !

Once you have the S suspension uprights, you can use the PCCB 6-piston calipers over the red 4 piston ones without having to use the PCCB rotors. That will provide good improvement over stock.

I've been doing a ton of research on brakes also. I ended up getting a set of 997.1 PCCB. A couple things in case it helps:
  • You noted 4-pot from Turbo/Turbo S... just to clarify, fronts are all 6-pot and rear are 4-pot
  • .1 Turbo fronts have 142mm spacing
  • You may also consider 991 S front calipers. They're also 142mm spacing and 6-pot, much less expensive than the Turbo/GT3 front 6-pot
Good luck!!
