Default PPF? What is this? How do I fix it?

Hi, I have a 997.2 and it has a clear plastic looking wrap below the door and I was wondering if it was possible to replace it? Or is it hardened on and not possible to replace.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "plastic wrap" - but if you're referring to the texturized paint - that's normal from the factory. The finish is intended to prevent or diminish the impacts of rocks and other road debris that may otherwise chip the paint.

I would definitely not remove it.

On this same subject - I have a minor , ~1", 'scratch / gouge' in this stone guard (it looks black). Any techniques on minimizing it?

Get some touch up paint and build it up over time. Wait at least 24hrs between light coats. These greys (silver/white/yellow) are forgiving when hiding small imperfections. Red, black, blue, green are a bit more difficult to attend to.
