Question Question about 997 Sport Design wheels

I've been looking for some Sport Design wheels for my 997.2 4S. In searching, I see some that are noted as OEM but made by BBS and some that aren't noted as made by BBS.
What's the backstory here? Did BBS make all 997 Sport Design wheels, or are the BBS ones just a "replica" of the Porsche-manufactured ones? If they are two different things, what are the differences in terms of cost, materials, etc?

Thanks!

They are manufactured for Porsche by BBS. They are an OEM manufacturer. My Sport Design have the BBS stamp on the backside of the spokes.

Thanks. Just to clarify, do you mean all 997 Sport Design wheels were made by BBS (none by Porsche themselves)?

Porsche doesn't make their own wheels, Porsche OEM wheels are mostly made by BBS.

Sure thing. I'm not aware of any large-scale car manufacturers that still make their own wheels, they're almost always outsourced to someone who specializes in manufacturing wheels.

With this Sport Design discussion underway, I have a couple of questions regarding the older 18 inch version of this wheel from the 996.

Does anyone have any pics of this wheel on their 997? I am currently running the 19 inch version but I am looking to improve the ride comfort by going to an 18 inch wheel.
Will the car adapt to a new set of TPMS sensors automatically?

Sport designs are the best looking wheel for 997s in my opinion But pro tip: change to ceramic brake pads or you will be cleaning them every 2 days.
