This is my former Speed Yellow 2005 C2S w/Cocoa interior, PCCBs, PSE, Sport Chrono, Sport Shifter, plus some other Exclusive parts. Original MSRP tipped the scales at over $105K!
interesting
newer saw SY over cocoa before, I like it
Not to derail this thread... I looked for a SY 997.2 generation 911 for almost 5 years before finding one and it was/is far from perfect. I'm sure someone has production numbers, but they seem pretty rare and rarely come up for public sale.
My biggest let down was the paint fade over 10+ years. It's no where near as orangy(?) red(?) tint as your 996 picture above. Like you, I prefer speed yellow over racing yellow.

I am not surprised it took you 5 years. I wanted a SY 997.2 as well, but while I was “watching the market” I only ever saw one and it was a PDK, which was unacceptable for me. Ended up with my Ferrari Yellow 997.1. It’s not as warm as SY, but not as bright as Racing Yellow. It works for me.
Which reminds me, @spessx we need to get together some time and go for a drive. And take comparison pics of SY vs FY.

Almost everyone I know agrees that replacing Speed Yellow with Racing Yellow was a huge blunder.
But another reason the 997 generation is that much more special....
It must not be a universally held opinion though. They’ve had plenty of time to make it right and it seems that Porsche listen to their customer base, at least somewhat. Maybe only to those who buy the GT cars, and those are mostly PTS nowadays anyways. At least if Instagram is an indicator.

Money talks...the enthusiasts can take a backseat. I so wish Porsche would've stayed a niche brand. Instead we get the 991 & 992 and the explosion of Porsche owners. The Cayenne, Boxster, Panamera, Macan, Cayman & Taycan. And they get bigger and bigger (I know, it's only an inch LOL!). All the feel is gone...just speed.
Anyway, I'm in my last Porsche,,but I wish they went a different direction and we could still order SY LOL!

I'm in. Just let me know and we can plan something. I'm happy to come out and do your loop.
So many great cars on this thread, I bought mine last year I wasn’t looking for SY but I found it with known bore score issues. When I saw it in person I had to have it, it’s currently at the shop getting a Hartech 4.1L
I don’t have many pictures on this device, I also have the deviated seat belts and Speed yellow hard back seats.

Wow - your car looks great.
What's the config of your car? 3.6 or 3.8? Tip or Manual? How many miles? I'm always curious when I hear about scoring.

it’s a tip, my 996 was a manual I was ok with either on this car as I plan on letting my wife take it to work when she wants. She can drive a manual but prefers not to. So it’s a 3.8L tip with 75,000km on it. Looking at the history of the car I would say it was discovered at 65,000-70,000km it didn’t have a steady home or gain a lot of miles from that point until now. It was fairly advanced it smoked a lot on start up and tapped like crazy.

Couldn’t agree more! The one good point is now all our cars are more rare.
