Default Experience with engine (water) preheating?

I am considering installing an easy-to-install cooling water preheater (997 MK1), the heater must have an external power connection. Do you have any experience with this and what disadvantages do you see? The control sees warm water although the rest is cold, which could influence the injection quantity at startup. But rather less and therefore rather better. I don't know...
Critical comments welcome!

You will have heat right at start up , not sure how much it will affect the air fuel mix ? Your electric bill will be higher if you keep it on . Only needs an hour or two for benefit . Used many on diesel trucks and equipment.
