Question 997.1 Sport Muffler FVD ‘Brombacher Edition’

I am curious if anyone is running the following muffler on their 997.1 ( BES 997 150 01S1 ):

https://www.fvd.net/us-en/BES9971500...odel-tips.html

I have seen some threads on the ‘sound edition’ sport muffler but none on this specific muffler, the ‘Brombacher’ edition sport muffler. I’d love to hear any feedback from owners concerning volume level, tone, and droning if there is any. TIA

I was looking at that one too some time ago but could not find any demos or user reviews for our cars. In the end went with the exhaust weld hack
and have been very happy with that.

Thanks for sharing, I too have not found anything about these mufflers.

Did you go with fisters? ceramic coated?

Probably not all that helpful, but given that FVD stuff seems fairly rare on this side of the ocean I though I'd chime in. I have the 997.2 version of this exhaust and I've been very happy with it, no drone and it's very civilized under 2500 RPM and then sounds great after that.

Thank you! on your 997.2, do you also have the center muffler bypass, or just the FVD mufflers?

I have their center x-pipe as well.

@buddalun
I had the 997.2 version of that system on my car for a few weeks and I really did like it. The sound was aggressive, but not obnoxious.

I actually sold it to a fellow Rennlister because I had an offer I could not refuse, to install the system I really wanted from the beginning (FVD-Brombacher 997.2 Street-Sport Muffler) which you can see in the video below.
The one you posted would still be my 2nd choice.

I just preferred the sound, and weight gain benefits of the Street-Sport: https://www.fvd.net/us-en/BES9972900...r-edition.html

I can assure you the audio on this video below is a very accurate representation of reality. I've had mine installed for many years now.

I've had PSE, Brombacher & Fister exhaust on my 997's.
Fister sounds by far the most closest to PSE and IMO better sound than PSE.

How did Brombacher compare to Fister or PSE? TIA

Just the simple hack of welding in a connecting cross-pipe between muffler and pipe; sounds similar to PSE, as groovzilla said.
The Brombacher is quite popular with the 997.2 crowd, and there are videos of it, but their cars sound very different to compared to 997.1 anyway.

Brombacher sounded like it had a higher pitch and really not even close to PSE sound
I would go with Fister IF you want that nice deep PSE growl.

I have the full exhaust from headers to muffler (and now to center exists). Sounds incredible, get compliments on it all the time.

Next time I take the car out I'll grab some audio.

Much appreciated! Is your car a .1 or .2?
