Default 2000 9997.2S do I need to register the battery?

I’ve been throwing PDK errors first thing in the morning with a cold engine that I think it’s attributed to low battery even though I did replace it probably two years ago. The car has sat a few times once for a month without a trickle charger. Anyway, I’m thinking that if registration/coding is required, and I didn’t do it then that could be the culprit. Can anybody confirm and if so, is it possible to register a two year old battery or do I need to start a new?

thanks in advance!

Maybe others can add more knowledge here, but I don't think that there is a "battery code" to be uploaded for 997s. I think is an electrical glitch related to the battery. I suggest to use a CTEK trickle charger with diagnostic feature, and it will either recondition the battery or tell you if something is wrong with it. That should be the first approach.
