997.2 C2S not revving to red line and cylinder 2 misfire
2009 C2S PDK 72k miles. Completely Stock except for an xpipe
I was driving my Carrera S a week ago and I went full throttle from ~65 mph and the car kicked down to 3rd with no issue but it was only revving till 6500 and wont go past that as if it was a soft limiter. I tried to force it by shifting manually and it worked but then I got a CEL. I took it to the dealership and I was told that there was a misfire in cylinder 2. After inspection they replaced all the coils and checked the spark plugs. I tested the car and it was fine. However.. this week it did the same thing and after a couple of tries it threw a P0302 code again. A video of the issue:

I should say that the two times the CEL came on I stopped, turned off the car and back on and the CEL was gone immediately and the car drove perfectly fine. I also should mention that the PDK was replaced back in 2016 under warranty and this unit has 35k miles on it. The PDK went through 1 oil change and calibration last month with no issues also.

I got the same issue with my 991.1 (2015 C2S). Replaced all coils and plugs, issue remains. Happens at high rpm only (close to 7K)

I would run a good fuel injector cleaner such as G001770A2 (Audi - 2x bottles as a first treatment) product has worked wonders for injector misfires on Audis (related to injectors) ...
Consider looking at:
Consider looking at:
- VVS sensor - 9A1-105-308-03 control whole bank but you can swap from L and R to test and see if reappears - 10min job
- 02 sensor replacement / test
- Start the bore by scoping along with a compression test/leakdown test
- Cam sensor replacement ?
- f that comes back negative - injector replacement

This is my first direct injection Porsche, actually first water cooled one too. Im learning how sensitive they are to premium fuel. I think the previous owner of mine, to 39K miles, used poor quality fuel as the engine seemed to stumble when starting off and idled poorly. For the past 5K i have used premium, tier 1 fuels only and have kept revs high before shifting. I know shift between 4-5000 rpms and barely ever use 6th gear. This and regular Techtron have helped improve shifting and engine smoothness.

I noticed one thing though.. the change over valve(near the airbox) connections were reversed so I swapped them back also i have an aftermarket valved exhaust from topgear uk and surprisingly the car ran perfectly fine with the valves open(loud mode) after I disconnected the vacuum line from the change over valve. But if I put it back and the exhaust valves are close(silent mode) the same issue returns. More over the exhaust electrical actuator was leaking current and draining the battery in 4-5 days so I removed the whole setup and the exhaust is always open for the time being. I will install back the oem exhaust and will report back with the findings.
