Default 2005 Carrera S ignition switch

I have the attached instructions to replace my ignition switch. Can someone tell me if the switch comes toward you when the ring (or bezel) is removed or does it have to be removed from behind and under the dash (seems difficult). Thank you.

It comes out from behind the dash. Disconnecting the harness can be tricky. Some folks cut the zip tie, but I just used a screwdriver through a gap in the steering column to unclip the harness.

As stated, easy to unclip the harness and remove the switch. No special tool is needed to remove the ring, just a pair of needle nose pliers opened wide...make sure the 'new' switch is not the obsolete Australian-made part. Should be made in Spain.
