Frunk Struts
#18
Me too I guess. Only been a Porsche owner since 1984 (40 years) when I was 15 and bought a 914. Being mid-engine, that car had a front trunk and a rear trunk, so a Frunk and a Trunk. Frunk is pretty common parlance around here for a Front Trunk.

Took me a few whacks on the head before I figured out I needed to replace them. Yea, I am not too smart.
For information on part numbers etc... read here:

My hood struts were getting a little tired, so I ordered a set from Amazon and installed them this afternoon.
Massive improvement.
One tip: When removing the old struts you can insert a small flat head screw driver or sturdy pick into the spring clip at the back of each cup mount and then pry the clip off.
The strut then pulls off with no resistance. If you look at the replacement strut it's pretty self explanatory. There's even a little indent where you insert the screwdriver/pick.
The new ones pop in with a simple push. As noted, 5 minute job max.
