Default Oil filter location

What year did Porsche change the location of the oil filter from the bottom to the top of the engine?

my 993 had it on the bottom
my 996 Gt3 had it on "the top"
as does our 997
but
same year boxsters / caymans were on the bottom, so you need to ask a more specific question

Watched a number of YouTubes on 997 oil changes and noticed most oil filters were on the bottom and a few 997s have them on the top.

The change to the 9A1 motor placed the filter on the top. That was 2009.
