Default Window trim repaint?

Can our window trim on non Targa 997 be repainted from faded black to ... something like brushed silver or chrome or satin chrome?

Has anyone ever done this on a coupe? Is there an OEM option? (I believe no but just thought Id ask). Or the way the material/trim is designed around the window it is impossible to have it even take any paint of wrap due to how it is set up?

What trim? Rubber trim? Carreras other that Targas do not have window metal trim.

It is a good question seeing as the labor and parts for new window trim is like 3-4k. Mines in good shape, parked inside most of the time but if I was faced with 4k vs a flawless paint or reconditioning job i'd look in to it.

You might try this stuff. I applied on the faded door handles, trim, and bumpers of my almost 25-year old Cherokee, and it made them look almost like new (and still so a year later).

To the OP: If you are referring to is the window rubber trim... run and get a bottle of

Nextzett 97261215 Vinyl-Rubber Extra, 16.9 fl oz

Aktiv Autobalsam. Apply with a good MF towel and some elbow grease.

Get it

Bumping this thread.

I’ve been cleaning up my 997 which I bought from my dad a couple years ago. The rubber trim is very soft and deteriorating, you can see the scratch I can put in the rubber with barely an effort.

my body guy said it’s a pain to replace, and the juice might not be worth the squeeze (squeeze being money). I see the recommendations made above, wanted to see if anyone had any before and after pictures? A ceramic product makes sense to me in this particular case.

thanks
