Im having same issue - my generator smoked whilst parked out in the rain and hadnt moved for 3 days, causing the battery/ generator red central warning. It had some months before had a new starter fitted, the generator was replaced, but the warning didnt go, fault code P0621.
Replaced Battery to be sure - cleaned up pos cable to bulkhead. Everything works fine, charges etc. but this warning just wont go after clearing fault code.
Likewise any ideas would be really welcome, thanks.
