I am the original owner of a 2009 997.2 911 S. 54K miles. The AC worked well for about 8 years and then the cooling dropped, so I turned it off and brought it into a dealer. They said that the coolant was very low (15% of what it should be) they recharged and added some dye, but could never find the leak ($600 later). After about three more years, I felt the AC was not properly cooling, so I took it to an indy and just had it recharged and it has been working well for the past 1 1/2 years. An occasional recharge is a very low-cost matience item as long as the compressor does not go out. Small change compaired to replacing my HPFP, power steering pump, gas level sending unit, coolant reservoir and front struts.
If all you want is a recharge, you can do it yourself for super cheap... just a can at an autoparts store and most come with a pressure gauge attached.
Well finally got my car into the shop for A/C recharge. My go to shop Aker's Porsche swamped and the 1 day they could fit me in last week I was busy.
So used another local infy shop Dobson's Porsche - They got me in today. Nice small shop that also sells cars on consignment. Only 7-8 for sale. Also have a nice lounge area to hang while car being worked on.
Took about an hour and system was tested for leaks/etc. No leaks and took .88 of Freon (Not sure what the measurement is) ---> Was $150 for hr of Labor + $100 for the Freon or "Refrigirant" as it's referred to these days.
A/C blows ice cold. Just in time for some hot weather.

My Silver 06 C4 getting operated on.
Glad they had the LBGTQ Flag in the window or I would have gone elsewhere
