Default Wiper Motor / Gear Rubbing Noise

Hello!

2009 997.2 here, turned wipers on today and noticed driver's side wiper assembly/gear is rubbing against the windshield cowl repeatedly on every wipe cycle. Can see the cowl jumps up a little bit.

Tried searching but doesn't seem to be a common problem. Any ideas?

Made attached video to show the rubbing noise and the cowl jumping up.

Thanks in advance!

Remove the cowl and see what's going on.

Removed the panels and saw the gears hitting the cowl. Looks like the plastic cowl has sagged. Held it up overnight using some cardboard and it cleared the gears in the morning!

Thanks!

Try adjusting the cowl. At either end you will see a rectangular cap... pop them, loosen the nuts and move the thing around.

Peace
