Lightbulb Convertible problem - help needed :-)

Hello

I have a 997.1 from 2005 that will not open the convertible top and I hope that you can help me.

The convertible top stops after a certain amount of time. If I try to open it further the intervals where it stops is much shorter. If I keep trying to open the top, it will "die" completely before the top is completely folded down and the button does not react anymore. If I close the top before it reaches the "dead" point, it will close perfectly fine again.

However the problem is not related directly to the roof function because when we have tried to manually open the top and then try to close it, the opeartion stops after around the same amount of time in the proces.

- The hydraulik motor is fine and oil level is correct
- Electric motor functions fine

Therefore we conclude that the error can be something electric like:
- Realys
- Control box 997.618.111.02
- Microswitch
- ?

However I do not think that a microswitch can be the problem because the error happens after the same amount of time af activation in both back lid, flaps and roof?

You can see the problem here:

Have anyone tried the same? What could this be?

My local Porsche workshop have tried a lot of things but I do not think that they have the knowledge to repair convertible tops.

Might need a roof calibration or the potentiometer needs to be replaced: https://www.ebay.com/p/1011275204?iid=185792069317

Get or borrow a durametric and run it through the calibration process. I'll bet it either starts working or throws one or more codes.

I had a bad battery (low voltage) that caused this intermittent error, but potentiometer or calibration if it repeatedly stops precisely at the same location each time when opening from fully closed.

I gather there's an error on the cluster screen? Check OBD Porsche error codes?
