Default Side skirts / flaps

The rubber flaps extending from the rear of my side skirts have popped loose and don’t want to stay in their forward mounting points. Can these flaps be replaced or is there a trick to securing them? Should I pull the skirts off in order to tackle this?

I’ve tried to slip the tabs back into the side skirt and they either pop out or shake loose

You have to remove the wheel well liner to get the piece back into position. There are bolts in the wheel well that hold it in position.

The flap has tabbed wedges along the edge that fit into the under tray, there doesn’t appear to be any obvious attachment point for a fastener and nothing looks damaged or missing along the loose side. My impression from the parts diagram is that the flap is attached to the skirt and not to the fender liner. Can anyone confirm this?

Follow @911-targa4s instructions… it attaches underneath the wheel liner. As soon as you remove it, you’ll see how the flap fits back in place.

Thanks, I think I have the part number. What do you want for the pair?

Roger that. I’ll pull the wheels and liners, thanks to you and @911-targa4s for pointing me in the right direction.

Pulled the fender liner and sure enough, the tabs need to be stretched in order to get the lip to engage and hold the flaps in place. The only way to stretch the tabs is from above and the only way to grab them is with the fender liner out of the way.

Did you actually need to replace this part, or were you able to simply re-install it.
Mine appears to have come un-tucked in the same way.

@tsulli1 I was able to re-secure the flaps into their factory mounting tabs. They pop loose every so often and I re-insert them as needed. I plan to replace them at some point but I haven't yet.
