Very timely, thank you. I’m looking now for companies to transport my 997 from SF to the Palm Beach area. I’m only looking at open transport right now but I’ll expand my search.

When I bought the car in Feb of 2020 I had it shipped from Dallas to Sonoma County, CA, open transport and through a winter rain all the way. Other than being very dirty and low voltage in the battery (unknown cause), it was perfect and cleaned up as expected. I know it’s anecdotal and only once, but mine is a daily and just turned 70k miles. Garage kept but I do take it car camping. :-)

Please let us know what you decide OP. TIA.

Depending on clearance, enclosed may be your best and only option. We would never normally ship a Porsche open at all.
Insurance on an open carrier will not cover road debris, acts of god, i.e hail, electrical or mechanical .
Feel free to pm me for rates and schedules.

Open or closed transport is only one of the fundamental considerations.

Nathan Merz shares some valuable information in this video that was done for the PCA on the topic...

Both silver Porsches...how great would it have been if they mixed up the delivery

Did they mate and create...a 718 Spyder?
If so, I will adopt.

Ha, wish that would have happened.

Its the only modern Porsche I’d own.

I should also mention that my insurance company told me they will cover whatever is not covered by the trucker's insurance.
And that additional payment for loss of value up to 50% of repair costs is normal with these cars.
So I did not worry one bit about damage on open carrier.
