Probably an easy question for some of you:
I have Michelin PS4's on my 2011 C2S in stock 235/35 front (diameter 25.5") and 295/30 rear (26.0" diameter), 19" rims, 8" front and 11" rear. My rear tires need to be replaced this year. I might do all four.
I see on the Michelin website that the PS4 comes in larger diameters:
235/40 (26.4" diameter) for the front, and
295/35 (27.1" diameter), 305/30 (26.3" diameter) for the rear.
I assume that the larger front (235/40) doesn't fit or more people would be using it to deliver a bit more compliant ride, correct? And I assume the same goes for the 295/35...

I got a set of Nitto Invo installed thanks to your ecommendation Petza. I think I will also keep getting them as long as they keep making them. It is an unfair comparison since I had some very old ps4s but it is like a different car grip is much better, much smoother ride and so much more quiet. Thank you Petza!! I am very happy with the tires and to add to the joy they were much cheaper at 1k for the set! I can’t praise these tires enough.

When I had to get tires last year the only thing I could find was Hankook summer tires. There was only one tire (997.1S) at 19 inch anywhere in the country.
so, I’m guessing we take what we can get till production increases.

Surprised to see so many having a hard time finding tires. I bought new PS4S for my ‘06 S (stock sizes) from Tire Rack a few weeks ago and had no issues with availability. Just did a search on the Tire Rack site and it looks like they have good availability for multiple brands, including the Michelins.

Yeah proxes are good tires, my buddy ran like 5 sets on a rs6. swears by them.

Conti's through MSR
I am not sure these tires would interest you since you said you don't ever plan to track the car (then why did you buy a Porsche?).
MotorSportReg is running a special on the Conti Extreme Contact Force tires, which I have used and liked (on the track primarily, but fine on the street - they are 200tw). Pricing is very good, although you do have to be registered on the MSR site (no cost). They (Track Day Tire) don't offer a 295/35-18 but they do offer a 30. 295/35 seems like an odd choice since I think the "stock" S version uses a 295/30 with a 245/35 front tire. Mine did. What are your front tires? Sorry if I missed that. Good luck!

Glad to hear you got your tire situation figured out and went with the Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02. I've been running the previous-gen Sports for the past year and have had a great experience with them. Up until now, I always used Michelin PS4s. The Contis are just as good as the PS4s and are actually more quiet at freeway speeds, which is a huge plus if you like to drive with your windows down.
Fixed finally. New Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02 installed. Initial tests complete.
First, FWIW for Porsche owners - Firestone Direct has handled this whole thing flawlessly. SUPER props to them. And especially to Andy, their regional guy down here.
This is not my first experience with FD. They've been great every time. Super convenient. Service on-site, where you are. Great customer interface. Very good pricing. Super fast (often next day) delivery and mounting.
They techs I dealt with were very good. Though....make sure you have your own jack pucks. Those aren't always on the trucks.
Friggin' awesome in my experience. (I have no stake in the business nor any income for me or my family connected to them.)
Andy suggested the Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02. I was hesitant about the wet performance. But Andy knew the tire. The wet performance is similar, perhaps better than the Potenzas.
He sourced them, as they weren't in inventory at Firestone Direct. Had them on the way, and on the car a day afterward.
They're just stiff enough in the sidewall, stable in the grooves, very linear on turn-in...perfect. My wife noticed the difference immediately as well.
Obviously YMMV. But for what I'm looking for, they're great.
Thanks Andy and Jake. Friggin' awesome, guys!

3 K miles: Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02
Tires: Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02 from the guys at Firestone Direct.
Six months on the clock. 3 K miles.
The vehicle is an 09 Targa in great condition. Driven sport-style and well. No track or hooligan stuff.
Very discriminating about the feel. Responsiveness. Turn in. Stability. Etc.
———
CECs replaced the Bridgestone Potenzas which I REALLY liked. Taught. Linear. Very predictable on this car.
But holy cats these CECS 02s are awesome.
If you’re running your car as more of a GT vehicle or an Everyday Driver … I don’t think you can do better.
They seem just a tiny bit softer overall than the Potenzas. The turn in is just a touch less immediate. Not less predictable or less stable. No squirm at all. They track super straight well over 100mph.
I’d characterize the ride as substantially ‘more comfortable’ with an insignificant reduction in performance. Very confidence inspiring overall
Where they absolutely shine is on the reduction of noise. After the break-in, the CEC 02s are damn near silent. Coming from the Potenzas, that is almost creepy. Potenzas howl like wolves. Wow.
Thanks everybody for chiming in (a while ago).
Hope the follow up helps you with your choice.
🫵🏻 Enjoy Every Sandwhich.

Totally agree, I put these on this past summer and very happy with them. I got mine from tire rack and they include 2-yr warranty for no additional charge.
