997.1 Sport Exhaust Note

All true but he is looking for the controller or solenoid to unplug the electrical connection. The actuators are mechanical and have a vacuum connection.

The vehicle has the sport chronometer package on the window sticker. Maybe I need to take another picture for reference? I'm certain it wasn't an add on.

Simply unplug connector and you are all set.

in 2007 "sport exhaust system" was a $2,400 "exclusive option", separate from "sport chrono package plus" which as a $920 "option" (separate column from the exclusive options)

Even if it were installed aftermarket, the valve should be in the same location -- and it is clearly not there in your picture. Best thing is to find and trace the braided/shielded vac lines from the mufflers.

So here's the window sticker. I know it has the button and there's certainly a difference when you press it. I do not see the option you're referring to though.

I checked your photo album, and it looks like you have the standard exhaust (equal size tailpipes -- compare to tailpipes in my video). The change in sound you're hearing is likely from the disabling of the intake resonator in "sport mode" and should be minor indeed.

I think the real issue is the sound from inside the cabin. I have a catless x pipe and equal length headers but driving along at normal rpm’s, it’s really quiet inside the car. Even when I get on it, it can be very loud outside the car but I am still surprised how much sound is lost inside. I assume it’s the fact that everything is behind you… I would like more cabin noise myself but there isn’t way to go louder without it sounding bad for others. Rear seat removal DID help a bit. I may also remove some sound deadening behind the carpet.

Just out of curiosity what is the normal mileage lifespan on the motor mounts? This car has been in storage most of its life. I'm at 26K on the odometer for reference.

Its an easy project if you can wrench, or a good starting point if you are new to working on the car.

That's what's great about this forum, Education! Although I thought I was going to get a free enhancement now I need to consider this maintenance item. I am pretty handy with certain types of repairs but I probably will just add this to my next shop visit.
Thanks again
