Wheels specs: 19x8.5 et45 and 19x11 et51

They fit nice and flush on the narrow body C2
My rears protrude slightly.
Maybe it’s because the Pirellis stick out a little more than the Michelin’s? I’ve heard that.

it makes me wonder if I should add spacers to the front, but I’m reluctant to mess with the balance and physics of the OEM setup.

I think the rear looks like it protrudes because your car is not lowered. Lowering kinda plays with your visual perception and makes wheels look slightly tucked in.

I’ve got some Fuchs inspired wheels. Pic for reference.
This cream white is so special looking. Reminds me of the Aport Classic Gray. Was that from factory?

Yes. Cream White was an “unpopular” premium paint option for 997.2’s

I think it lends a vintage/retro vibe. I also added jaspe coco mats to continue to retro vibes on the interior.

I like the Fuchs aluminum outer rim design better than my Sport Classic wheels. Looks closer to the original SC/3.2 design with more pronounced flaring.
