turbos had the Mezger through MY 2009. Switched to 9A1 in 2010 I beleive.

So it looks like by 2010 (and a litte 2011) all 911s went back to sharing the same engine platform...?

The 2011-2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is the last Mezger. Yes, Porsche killed it and they all went to the same engine platform to save money (the Mezger was never a big money maker). There are also environmental factors that caused Porsche to move away from Nikasil, it is "dirty". Not until SUMEbore did the bore scoring issue get solved again for these engines.
