Default Found the perfect fitting 997 frunk storage bin for 2wd

I've been on the lookout for a well fitting storage bin for the front trunk of my 997. Mostly for track days to throw all the essentials including oils and other stuff. I was hoping to avoid spending the crazy to me $170+ for the OEM bin when any regular bin/tote is literally $10. Also I wasn't even sure if the OEM bin is meant to be easily removed, plus no lid option either if needed for other use.

To note this is for a 2wd 997, not sure if this would fit a 4wd car.

So here it is, $35 at Home Depot.
Husky 20-gal professional duty waterproof storage container.
Fits perfectly down to the cm on all sides and edges. Slides right in and out, no movement or play whatsoever in any direction. Also while tight fitting, has enough space on the sides to fully grab the handles. Another plus is you can also put the lid on just as easy.

Kid tested, mother approved!

Very nice, but it seems like you lose some space. I am amazed at how much I can fit in my frunk, groceries, prepacked firewood, duffle bags plus other crap .... I line it with a heavy duty contractor bag to minimize any messes. Nonetheless - I will pick up one of these next HD trip - Thanks for the Tip!

2 wheel, good point I forgot the 4wd folks would have different dimensions.

Yeah you do lose a couple of inches all around just from the plastic frame of the bin. I've personally never needed to fill the frunk so much where I needed every inch, so the ease of just throwing everything in the bin and taking the whole thing in and out in 1 move is great, and for me necessary.

I was going to pick up one of the black 17g bins from HD as they fit really well into the C2 frunk. But last time I looked for one at my HD, they didn't have any lids.

At least now you'll know the 20gal fits even better

Thanks for the tip. Can you purchase one without the kid? I have enough children as it is.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but this thing doesn’t remotely fit my RWD GTS.
and the frunk is the same size.
yes I confirmed I have the 20gal

Edit: After comparing our frunk shapes, i see mine is ever so shallower than yours on the inboard side.

My Full Bar takes up too much room for any additional storage

You can purchase without the kid but you'll miss out on the sleepless nights.
