Thanks guys. I'm still not thrilled with the PWB connector wire interface and the grommet exit, looking for something a little more robust and easy to assemble. Has anyone seen something like this and know where to get it? It's a wire holder that has "ears" that fit into notches in the housing. That black rectangle in the middle is a cavity that is filled with potting to trap the wires in place.
This would allow me to attach wires directly to the PWB and eliminate the connector interface. The connector seems to be okay but it is a long-term reliability concern.

Another method for the wire exit it could be a a series of "S" channels to act as a strain relief and to capture the wires, I have also see this done with a series of small posts that again cause the wires to snake out through the end of the case.
As for those bubbles, epoxy is somewhat prone to this as mixing can introduce air, liquid artists and woodworkers use a heat gun or propane tourch to momentarily introduce enough heat to the surface to expand and pop the bubbles before the epoxy sets.
Here is an example of the process:

This is definitely more interesting reading than a Lee Childs - Jack Reacher novel....
Please count me in. I have a 997.2 Turbo that had a replaced PDK which Porsche honored. I literally have about 8K miles on the new PDK and took a 1,000 mile round trip at the end of summer and got an emergency code. Went into a restaurant to eat and when I came our all good. No problem since, but it's there lurking...

I'm in too and willing to add one to my spare parts "just-in-case" bin. Let's crowd fund this puppy!
(PS I was in the OE side of the auto industry for 40 years, much of the time in parts procurement. I wish I'd had suppliers as thorough, talented and cost-, conscious as you!)

@Kbken62 what code did you get?
So Kbken62, hate to say it but as you say, it seems like something is lurking based on what you describe and what I've dealt with. For what it's worth, my service advisor at the dealership said that once these warnings light up, something is going on and it's unlikely whatever is going on isn't just going away. Just the beginning of the countdown as he described it.

Any updates on this?
Once you guys conquer the distance sensor, the overpriced speed sensor should be next.

On the question of the speed sensor, yes. We really didn't have any intention of looking into it but at the price being charged this seemed like another case of charging what the market will bear rather than what is reasonable for the product. The team agreed this should be the next project. All in good time. One of the great things about a global project is that we can lean on skills all around the world. The downside is that it takes time. Like the distance sensor our plan will be to make all the information open source.
