So far I replaced window switch, conv top switch, checked relay under driver console and checked latch microswitch. Durametric reads no faults. Any ideas ?

You may try disconnecting the battery and leave it disconnected for 15 to 20 minutes. Then reconnect it. Doing that may re-initialize and reactivate the functionality of your convertible top actuating button.

Is there fuse to check or is that what you meant by relay?

I had the exact same thing on my 996.

I had popped the engine lid switch. Didn't open the engine lid. No warning open light. No warning lights when I tried to close the top. Just no power what so ever to the top.

If you closed the engine lid and that didn't solve it, there has to be a switch or sensor there maybe?

I look at the diagrams tonight to see if I can be more specific.

Thank you. My car is a convertible and the other thing that is going on that might be related is that my driver side window switch (Front/Rear Window Selector) does not light up or work for the rear windows. Front work fine. I bought a new switch and harness but still does not light up. Could it all be related? JOE

High probability they are related, as the windows are an integral part of the top lowering, and are the FIRST thing that is activated, prior to any top movement.
If the windows don't lower, the top cannot begin the next part of the cycle (which is open the clamshell and release the hook).

I think that if you fix the switch, you will fix the top.
