Considering you inadvertently hooked up your battery incorrectly, isn't there a chance you missed a step during your rebuild and reason for the coolant issue?
I'm not trying to throw you under the bus or disrespecting you, but rebuilding a 997 engine takes a good amount of expertise and requires a good amount of mechanical experience.
From my many visits to my Porsche Specialist Indy and watching him rebuild Porsche engines over past 38 years, there's a lot of expertise required and years of experience needed in order to rebuild any Porsche engine.
I'd imagine a seal is not seated properly or similar causing the coolant leak/mix.
Sorry you have to deal with it but can't be too surprising considering you have never rebuilt a 997 engine and I believe it takes a lot more experience than just taking a class.
actually have rebuilt a number of engines although many years ago….certainly Porsche engines add another dimension but I don’t question my rebuild as I doubled and triple checked everything unlike the momentary lapse of judgement due to pure excitement of finally getting to the stage of turn the key. I had every part checked and pressure tested. It looks like the head that I sourced and had rebuilt was done incorrectly by a local rebuild shop but won’t be able to confirm until more testing is completed. If I have to drop the engine again and re work the engine I will …unfortunate but things not always come out perfectly even when you do all the right steps.

I admire you're willingness to dive in and do the rebuild.
Your experience with the rebuild having issues is the reason I would never attempt to do any sizable repairs on my Porsche's over the years.
Only repair I've done was an oil temp switch on my 964 years ago.
I can do house related electrical/plumbing and other tasks related construction but I have 0 confidence in any sort of indepth car related repairs.
Really sorry for the issues and hope it gets resolved easily

Any updates on getting the problems resolved?
BTW, based on your experience, today I bought red electrical tape and marked my positive battery cable.

Car is on the Road a bunch of fuses blown and replaced. Car is running smooth now after about 500 miles. Power/throttle is not what it should be especially after in form a 3.8 to 3.9L. I have tons of engine fault codes which I am trying to figure out. I know that at least two of my O2 sensors need to be replaced and I understand that these faults can cause potentially a number of other faults in the system. The engine blew up on the bank 2 side and coolant would have gotten into the exhaust and into the catalytic convertor....I guess i will replace the O2 sensors there first. Still thinking maybe i did do damage to some other electrics, like the EUC as the Power/throttle needs to be adjusted. My engine light is on but the car does run beautifully otherwise.
