Default 2006 911 S / Intermix/ Should I sell As Is or keep ?

I am the original owner of a 997/2006 911 S (6 speed manual /black exterior black interior /black piano wood/graphite trim in headlights/ suede headliner/ with about 61k miles.) The car looks to have had an intermix about 4 years ago when I had a new clutch done and has not been driven since.
Looking for thoughts and advice on if I should sell as is or keep the car. Also any thoughts on what AS Is price to sell might be with this issue?
Thank you for your thoughts and advice in advance.

Having sat for a few years with intermix, I'd be concerned there is damage to internals from corrosion, so that will need to be disclosed for sure to any buyer. I bought a similar car for 9500 but that was about 10 years ago - since then I've paid anywhere from 1500-6500, just depends on overall condition and how capable the buyer is. It's worth more to a DIY'er.

With values having gone up, what was once a bankrupt car is now worth fixing, but you'll still be in somewhere around $15-20k bare minimum if you do things the right way.

I know one of my guys is looking for a roller, so if you do want to sell, let us know.

I am looking for a 997S short block as a long-term project to fix up my bore-scored 997S 2006 model (still driving it). So if the price is right, I would be willing to buy a roller. As for the keep/sell equation, keep it if that car means something to you and you have $20K to fix it. If you don't have the money and the car is not sentimental, then sell it as a roller.

Lastly, fix it THEN sell it, gets you more money. A friend is looking at a car like yours without the intermix, he is seeing $45K on the market.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Intermix is when the engine oil and coolant mix. It can be caused by several things - cracked cylinder, cracked head, or failed heat exchanger. Most likely it is a cracked cylinder.

Where is this car currently located? In retirement I buy 997's with sick engines and do a full rebuild. I have attended Jake Raby's rebuild class and have all the tools.

How many have you done so far - maybe you can do this as a side job/hobby for those in the northeast who can't wait two years for rebuild from FSI...

I have done 3 so far. Already have #4 here for my winter project. I am not interested in doing a project for someone else. Just as a note, I have just spent $16K on the parts to do a proper long block rebuild. Big items include 4.0 Nickies with Mahle pistons, IMS Solution, K-1 rods, and head work from Len Hoffman.

Understood, I get it - it can turn out to not be fun anymore. Too bad
