Default Broken manual shifter
I have an 06 C4s cab. When I shifted out of 3rd gear last night the shifter came down out of gear position but the car stayed in third gear. Now the shifter moves up and down and seems loose moving around but the car does not go in or out of gear. Clutch still working so I drove home in third gear. Any ideas what broke for me? Thanks for any advice.

This....not an uncommon failure on these cars and now that you're at 16 years old with the car, small issues like this will tend to happen.

Thanks for the advice! 72,000 mi on the car, I purchased 5 mos ago. Have a Panamara but this is my first 911, love it but lots to learn!!
