Yes, what others have said, the stick on metal piece needs to be on the outside of your case. This mount is perfect for me, phone has never once fallen off.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I am trying to figure out what mount this is and what I need to get the actual phone mount to screw in. This was in my car from the previous owner. Is this an older Rennline mount? Will the current magnetic mount screw in? Thanks

I don't think it will work the way you want it to, the Rennline mount uses a RAM attachment mount, very common usage. I would just order a new one from Rennline since they are 15% off at the moment, unless the sale is over with.

@6sigma That is a ProClip mount. It is a vehicle specific base and a swivel mount (which you are missing half of). Good products - I have them in other cars.

If you have an iPhone I would just unscrew the top part leaving the bare mount. Then buy a strong adhesive magnetic pad. Put that on the mount. Then use an mag safe wireless charger. Keeps my phone charged and no problems sticking to it.

I have a case on my iPhone 13 Pro made by Mous. Says it’s MagSafe compatible but that Rennline magnet is weaker than a mouse fart sending my phone into the abyss if I take a corner faster than 5 mph.

I liked the look of the Walnut case, and really don’t want to stick an adhesive metal plate to backside. I tried putting the metal plate on inside of case, but that in turn screwed up my charging capabilities.

I have the same scenario and question. The Rennline mount sits too low. Vent solution is not a good long term solution.

It would be nice if there were a lockable arm with a MagSafe pad that extended up to the right of the vents from where the Rennline piece mounts to the console. Looking down to see maps or select tunes is a risk I dont like to take especially where I live and drive.

Thanks! I just ordered the phone holder that will connect to the mount here. Appreciate the ID of the mount as I couldn't figure out what it was!

Default Spiegel Wireless Charger Poll

So before I spend another $60 on this Spiegel Magnetic Charger Mount, I’d like to hear from those that purchased it.

On a scale of 👍🏻 To 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 What’s your overall rating of the ability to securely hold your iPhone 13?

The satechi one holds my iPhone12, with the Apple Leather Magsafe compatible case on it, with no issues:

I have the Spiegel on a Rennline mount and it holds my phones securely. However, I have a metal ring affixed to the back of my Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 with no case on either phone.

So I bought the Spiegel mount and impressed with strength of magnet. However trying to figure out how to mount to Rennline.

Have others used the included base with double sided tape and stuck it to the Rennline?

Or did you unscrew the chrome ball and attach to Rennline?

Swap the chrome ball.

The one I bought was compatible with the ball already on my Rennline mount. A licensed MagSafe holder and a licensed MagSafe case will hold it perfectly well. Just got to get it on the Rennline mount brack somehow.
